I think legal sex change is allowed in but I'm not sure about the "looking like a girl" concept makes it an exception. If you're a girl, you're a girl. If you're a boy, you're a boy. If you're gay or bi, you're still the gender you're born to be. If you're a transexual... leave that to the management unless they decide to let it slide. Unless you're a crossdresser, I think. That's pretty complicated...

and yea. Japan isn't really against sexuality considering how it is more open in entertainment and whatnot compared to America (we're still having issues with making gay marriage legal). I'm pretty sure a lot of idols have been misinterpreted as gay/lesbian/bi considering all of the kissing and sleeping in the same bed kind of situations unless they actually come out and admit to it. Even one of the former members from the 0 era thought Shiorin was a lesbian during an ex-momoclo member talk show with Akarin as the host. But aside from that, I'm sure the girls wouldn't mind who they accept into gender-specific concerts. (unless you count that moment where Kanako shouted "MEN!" when they tried to get the audience pumped and then said "security! Take him out!" after hearing a reply. That was more of a joke. credit to a mononofu on the FB page generous enough to share info)

I thought the Onna/Otoko events had small sections roped off just for the opposite sex (escorts/dates/parents/etc). I know I saw a live broadcast of the Team Syachihoko version where they had like an 80/20 arrangement on the theater floor and they specifically put cross dressers on the front of the group.

^ Syachi's Otome Matsuri and Yarou Night were different. They weren't gender-limited; only the front section was reserved for people who came cross-dressing on the appropriate night, so women who dressed like men on Yarou Night and men who dressed like women on Otome Matsuri.

In general for Japan's gender-limited events, you show your ID when you enter the building. If it says female and everything seems legit, you get in. There are usually some policies in place to prevent admittance to people cross-dressing solely for the purpose of going to the limited event to get in, but they're not there to be discriminatory against trans* individuals, although being trans* in Japan is a much different experience than it is in the US and elsewhere.

    I love Kanako's statement.

"Boys are not allowed to watch!
Just kidding! They can watch! Lol.
    But, watch it in secret!!"
