I'm not sure that just announcing a new haircut is the exact meaning of Kanako san's October 15th Instagram post. Indeed, she did get her hair cut...or maybe she cut it herself. I'm not completely sure. Using my "hatchet job" translation skills, I took a stab at the text in the post...



I believe the scissors emoji is there for the verb 切る (Kiru - to cut). So if I'm right, since the hair cut has already happened, we should conjugate kiru to the simple past form, kitta, then the complete text would be " 髪の手切った！うれしいすっきり。" (kami no te kitta！ureshii sukkiri.)

I translate that as "I cut my hair! I'm glad that I'm happy." - Did she cut her hair herself, or did some one else cut it for her? Kiru is a transitive verb, but in this case I think it could go either way.

The point is that whether Kanako san cut her hair herself or somebody else did it for her, I think this post is not so much about, "Look! I got a new haircut.", but more like, "There's a big hole on the top of my head, but I'm glad I'm happy."

Whether she cut a bald spot or somebody else did, she seems to be OK with it. As always, she has a great sense of humor!

Graduations are part of idoldom so have to be expected

Momoka's and Yui's have one thing in common for me:
They were weird and with a certain degree of disbelief that the whole story had been told.
In Yui's case obviously...

With Momoka it was the suddeness and rushed athmosphere that made it awkward
With Yui it was the dead silence for months if not a year that angered a lot of fans
And even now the explanation given is rather vague and not satisfying
And Yui going solo? I rather doubt that

Other than that you can't really compare the groups and persons
The absence of Momoka's abilities was a real blow artistically
In BM's case it was more a disturbance of symmetry with one half of Suzuka's minions missing

But I have to admit that I had lost a great deal of interest in them after a while as they didn't have the diversity and constant amount of surprises that Momoclo provided

Well if BABYMETAL keeps the extra dancers they had with them for this year now that Yui is gone, they can still work that “Su-Metal and her minions” dynamic (just let those extras chant with Moa).

In Momokas case, I argue that while she was an essential part to MCZ, she wasn’t THE essential part that made MCZ what they are (it was the combination of ALL the ladies with their different personalities and abilities). So while they might not be as good without Momoka, I say they are still perfectly manageable with the 4 remaining members (since each of them are about as essential to the group).

If they were a 10 with Momoka, they are now an 8 without her.
