I love MAX and I have ejnoyed the singles that have preceded the release of this album. Although I don't own the album yet, I have to ask the writer of the previous review: Prepubescent girls????? The members of MAX are all over 30 years old and one (Mina) has kids! I think the writer of the previous review is confusing MAX with Morning Musume... That said, MAX is still one of the best groups in JPOP -- Nobody can go wrong with this or any other MAX album; they're all just good, energetic music and way too much fun!

"Jewel of Jewels" is literally an album four years in the making. For MAX fans, this album seems like it took an eternity. Thankfully the result was an enjoyful and diverse album. It starts off with "It's time to "Shine!" MAX's first completely English language song. It is a great album opener and I was pleasantly surprise to find that I could understand them as they are not fluent English speakers. My only real complaint of the album is that towards the middle the songs start to sound the same. Alone these songs are good, but together they tend to drag. It would have been better if they had rearranged the track listing a bit. The single "NIRAI KANAI" has been remixed by Okinawan group BEGIN and gives the song an authentic Okinawan sound. Also included in this version of the album is a DVD containing the six music videos for the included singles. As MAX hasn't released a PV DVD in years, this is a nice treat. If you enjoy pop music but don't feel weird about listening to prepubescent girls, MAX is for you.
