The pages that had become legend
I watch on from a distance, a HAPPY MAN
How miserable? GIVE ME A BREAK
With scars from that slackened justice
I’d severed off from, SEE YOU AGAIN
I’ll go to tomorrow, my own way
This sky, that sea
If we get too close, we fail to see its vastness
Where did these beautiful ice floes come from?
I don’t know, KNOCK MY LIFE
Wandering the NORTH BLUE ROAD
A rough frozen way
With a single bicycle tightroping on my heart
Just the NORTH BLUE ROAD
Ahh, the hands of the clock tower can’t be turned back
This world will go wild
GET OUT! GET UP! GET DOWN!
By anyone’s hand
Forced upon by
Rotten morals, an ANGRY MAN
I’m old-fashioned? GIVE ME A BREAK
Even the blazing snow storm
Heads towards miracles, SEE YOU AGAIN
Transform it into objet d’art with those hands
Trapped in this tiny box
So that when the time came to fly, my wings
Hurt, and in the end, even my own memories
Can’t be protected, KNOCK MY LIFE
Lost on the NORTH BLUE ROAD
At the end of the rough forest
I’ll find my own answer, an expanding FRONTIER
The glittering NORTH BLUE ROAD
Ahh, confusion, deliberate melancholy
To the fellow traveller embracing them
GET OUT! GET UP! GET DOWN!
We’re alive
Wandering the NORTH BLUE ROAD
On this solid earth, whistling
With a single bicycle dashing across the fields
Just the NORTH BLUE ROAD
Ahh, frolicking with the wind wherever we go
In my own way
GET OUT! GET UP! GET DOWN!
Just moving forward
Because I don’t wish to be
“A wolf in sheep’s skin”

Misa’s note:
“Ii furikoki no ganbe takari” is a native Hokkaido saying used to describe something that looks beautiful on the outside but is actually rotten/ugly within. I thought “wolf in sheep’s skin” was the most fitting metaphor in this case.
