I scratched my head and escaped, though I was honestly happy
In the deserted classroom in the afternoon, you carved our initials onto the desk
“Stop carving down our memories, keep them in your heart” I whispered

“I’ll call even though we’re apart” you say as you extend a pinky finger
But I’d rather you not make promises you can’t keep, so sorry
With a thin sailor scarf, I wish to tie a ribbon on stopped time
But your future will change in Tokyo, and can’t be bound

Ahh, if I don’t cry during the graduation ceremony, others will say I’m aloof
But I’d like to reserve my tears for an even sadder moment

The register changed, and I grew jealous of the girl beside you
As you tugged on my hair in jest, we frolicked beneath pretended anger
Our first walk on the long journey to the train station was silent
Standing on opposite platforms, the train of time tore us apart

Ahh, we’re still friends even after graduation. That’s not a lie, but
