Anime 「One Piece」 Opening. Short Version
—–
Can’t stay still, can’t stop
Dawn is late, so vexing
One, two, Sunshine, four… WE GO!
Let’s raise the flag, Break of Romance Dawn
Let’s make some waves, jumpstart from sleep
If we’re heading to an unbelievable world
Your toughness is needed
We’re such show-offs, is that a crime?
We’re wanted → Means we’re Winner (・∀・)
Freedom is our only rule
Worries are just like the wind
Absolutely, we’ll reach One Piece first
Our dreaming hearts are super huge
It’s important not to wake up~
Can’t stay still, can’t stop
Dawn is late, so vexing
One, two, Sunshine, four… WE GO!
We… have come so far
Our destination… Where dreams are
We won’t leave anyone behind~
With all our hearts, that’s a promise
Since that day, our dreams began
The future we’re aiming for is the same~
Can’t stay still, can’t stop
The sun in our hearts won’t set
One, two, Sunshine
One, two, Sunshine
One, two, Sunshine, four… WE GO!
WE GO!

Misa’s note:
Lots of interesting wordplays in this song!!
1. This one is easy to spot! “Ichi, ni, Sunshine yon… wii goo!”, comes from the Japanese number series of 1 to 5, romanized as “ichi, ni, san, yon, go”.
2. Connecting words scattered throughout the song. Take for example, the last line of the first bridge and first line of the chorus. In Japanese, the last word of the bridge reads “kaze” or “wind”. The first word of the chorus is “ttai”, which is meaningless, but when connected with the “ze” from the bridge, it becomes “zettai” or “absolutely”.
A full list of word pairs:
kaze (wind) <—> zettai (absolutely)
daiji (important) <—> jitto (stay still)
ze (an ending particle) <—> zenshin (all our hearts)
onaji (the same) <—> jitto (stay still)
